Fire & Rescue Dept airlifts solar equipment to Kg Sungai Magandai

SWEPA’s project partner, the Sabah Fire & Rescue Services Department (Bomba) on 4th Sepember, 2016 assisted us in airlifting 241 boxes of solar lighting systems equipment weighing 4,016 kilograms from Tandek to Kg Sungai Magandai. The cargo arrived in Kota Kinabalu on 26th August, 2016 from Barefoot College, India. 100 boxes of which were solar panels, LED lamp units, chargers, solar lanterns, solar modules and wire cables which are for the 100 households in Kg Sungai Magandai, Kg Sonsongon Suyad and Kg Binontungan Suyad. The remaining boxes contained batteries, tools, equipment and a spare supply of electronic components for the Rural Electrical Workshop (REW) for the purpose of training and maintenance. Director of Bomba Sabah Encik Nordin Pauzi and his Assistant Director (Operations) Khairul Azuwan Ibrahim were personally present to oversee the operations.
