15th Sept 2014 :
An early flight departure from KK to KL at 7.05 am, chaperoned by our Project Coordinator, Yap Li Ling, Tarihing took the indomitable courage to step into the plane, first time in her life in pursuant of knowledge and skills acquisition in India.
Upon arrival in KL, the duo did the final documentation in India High Commission and later came back to the airport for a late flight to New Delhi, India. Arriving at midnight, they were met by the Barefoot personnel and together with a few other Grandmas from other countries, they started the jeep-drive of 5 hours to Tilonia, where Barefoot College is situated.
Being an easy-going lady, Tarihing managed to settle down nicely making friends with others easily. A phone call back home is the first thing she wanted to do…..
“Saya mahu suami saya tahu, saya sudah selamat sampai di India….”
Everything were smooth and quick, Li Ling spent a week in Tilonia to ensure all is well taken care before bidding “Goodbye” for home.
The Project Committees have been calling Tarihing quite regularly to make sure she is fine in her new environment. With God’s blessing, everything is indeed as planned.
We are waiting in anticipation to see Tarihing back home in March 2015. With her newly acquired skills, she will be able to deliver the benefits in lighting her village with Solar Power energy throughout the 100 households in Kg Sonsogon Magandai.
