Musa commends SWEPA’s role in helping women in Sabah
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman praised the Sabah Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Association (SWEPA) as an organization that has helped to empower the women of Sabah.
In his speech delivered by Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Datuk Jainab Ayid at SWEPA’s 20th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, Musa said that SWEPA has played an important part in enhancing the role of women in the professional and entrepreneurial fields in the State.
He said SWEPA’s significant efforts to hone the skills of its members are a good example of a non-governmental organization making great contributions to the wider communty while serving the interests of its members as demanded by its charter..
“I applaud you for your hard work and I hope that you will continue to engage in dynamic activities for your members,” Musa said.
He added that SWEPA is also an accessible platform for its members to voice their concerns about the challenges that they may face.
“You have constantly voiced out the need for the inclusion of women in decision-making roles and you have also given ideas how the government can improve the well-being of women,
“Let me assure you that we will continue to take note of your concerns and the matters that you have raised,” he stressed. – Insight Sabah
